Dream Catchers (2-3  years old)

Welcome to our 2 & 3 year old classroom. Here, we provide an array of materials for your curious little ones to explore. By doing so, we help aide them in further exploring the big and beautiful world around them. Your child's day will be filled with opportunities to discover colors, shapes, sounds, and textures. They will be exposed to more structured activities and encouraged to voice their opinions and thoughts about different materials that we cover throughout the year. While we know that play time is important as it helps develop creativity and imagination, your children will also be asked to participate in an array of structured activities to help teach concepts of patience, kindness, and responsibility. Our teachers  balance their classrooms with quiet activities, music, and movement and create weekly curriculums that correspond to themes and academic practices (i.e numbers, shapes, colors, animals, etc.) Time, as well as seasonal changes, will be introduced and emphasized. Your child's schedule will be posted on the bulletin board at the beginning of each week so you can always see what new and exciting things your little one/s are learning about!

This is where potty-training begins! We know that this can be a difficult time for both parents and children and we work exclusively with each family to help ensure that everything runs smoothly. Children will always be encouraged use potty with positive reinforcement and praise. Your child will NEVER be reprimanded for accidents. If an accident does occur, the child will be escorted to the bathroom with a change of clothes and the soiled clothing will be placed in a bag and placed in the cubby to go home.

Our Learning Centers are designed with your child in mind: we offer an extensive amount of stimulating experiences that will help challenge your child in a positive environment.

Blocks: Children will develop emotionally, socially, and cognitively by playing with a variety of building materials to turn imagination into real-life creation.

Dramatic Play: This interest center will help your child make sense of their world as they use their imagination and problem-solving abilities. By creating spaces for positive and free imaginative play, your child will be able to portray an array of make-believe scenes that will help stress their ability to emphasize and sympathize with others.

Games & Puzzles: Age-appropriate puzzles and games will help foster the necessary skills needed for the math and sciences. Your child will work on various activities that will stress concepts and help further develop motor skills through stacking, sorting, counting, and putting together (or taking apart) different objects. Games, such as Mr. Fox, will encourage your child to learn time or sounds, and will help construct a positive and eye-opening experience.

Creative Arts: Through different mediums of visual art (painting, sculpting, drawing) your child will improve eye-hand coordination, small muscle control, and problem solving.

Water & Sand: Sensory experiences will provide your child with emotional outlets as well as a beginning knowledge for math and science concepts. Here, your child will begin to question and seek answers through these activities, while also having fun with their friends!

Book & Storytelling: A multitude of different texts will be available for your child each day. Books will shift every season to help your child experience a wide range of text that is current and up to date. Your child will have 15 minutes before nap that will be dedicated to reading and talking about the vibrant literature we have.
